Sunset Jazz Concerts

Relax on Lyndhurst’s great lawn and enjoy cool music by hot jazz artists! The grounds open at 4 pm, music begins at 6:30 pm. There is a $5 per person parking fee. The site is also accessible by walking the Old Croton Aqueduct trail. Dogs are allowed on-leash. Concerts are on the west lawn overlooking the Hudson River. It’s 1922, and a group of archeologists has unearthed an Ancient Egyptian tomb – but they barely have time to celebrate their discovery before the diggers each start dropping dead! Your group has arrived at the dig site (Lyndhurst mansion) to help determine the cause of the deaths – is it the Pharaoh’s curse or a cold-blooded killer?

Sherlock Holmes (Tal Aviezer) and Dr. Watson (Mikel Von Brodbeck) are called to investigate the mysterious circumstances surrounding a baffling death, a menacing doctor with a menagerie of exotic animals, and a desperate client in need of help. Follow them on a trip through Victorian London (played by the inimitable Lyndhurst Mansion), on the trail of this classic mystery. Together with the famous detectives, we’ll move through the Carriage House and rooms on the first floor of the Mansion as we’re drawn deeper into the secrets of the case.

Mr. Dickens Tells A Christmas Carol

Mr. Dickens Tells a Christmas Carol’ recreates Charles Dickens’ own performances of the classic tale that brings the travails of Ebenezer Scrooge, Bob Cratchit and Tiny Tim alive. Taken from Dickens’ original script, actor Mikel Von Brodbeck plays Charles Dickens and tells the well-loved tale as guests travel throughout main floor of Lyndhurst mansion “meeting” the different spirits and characters.

Holiday Concert: ‘A Collective Christmas’

December 16th at 3 pm Awaken your holiday spirit with a joyous concert from Collective Brass in the Lyndhurst Carriage House. Enjoy seasonal favorites such as selections from the Nutcracker, new arrangements of ancient carols, and even a sing-along! Also, don’t forget, a Christmas concert would not be complete without the Hallelujah Chorus. Ring in the season with this lively arrangement for the whole family. The program will run about 55 minutes. Free reception to follow.
