The popular Scarecrow Invasion leaps into the future with a completely new way to see experience the fall landscape!

All new outdoor sculpture display: Futurescape
This year, local sculptor Malcolm MacDougall III fills the roadway with futuristic metal sculptures. The eerie sculptures are a beautiful setting for daytime leaf-peeping, or a mysterious nighttime experience. The display will give visitors the opportunity to explore areas of the site that they would not normally discover.

Always a popular place for fall leaf-peeping, Lyndhurst’s grounds will be particularly beautiful as the leaves change color and begin to reveal spectacular views of the Hudson River and new Mario Cuomo Bridge. At night, the reflective sculptures are dramatically lit for a supernatural, eerie quality. Walking the secluded landscape in the dark is always a major part of the experience.

Scarecrow Invasion Returns!
In collaboration with the installation, 200 students will visit Lyndhurst to create the always popular Scarecrow Invasion. The kids’ scarecrows spread across the entry lawn in a spooky army of color and creativity.

The exhibition will be on view from October 8th through October 31st. There is no additional charge for visitors attending other Halloween events, like Mansion Tours with a Twist and Jay Ghoul’s House of Curiosities. There is a $5 per person grounds fee for those wishing to see only the sculptures and grounds.
