Friday - Monday, May 7th - August 30th

11:00 AM- 12:00 PM
Check-in at the Welcome Center

Tour ticket holders do not need to purchase a Daily Grounds Pass, as tour tickets include grounds access.

This tour explores the upper eastern portion of the property and takes visitors through the c. 1910 rose garden, the c.1880 frame Jay Gould’s Lord & Burnham greenhouse, the stabilized ruins of the c. 1911 swimming pool building, and through the fern garden. Visitors can expect to experience the roses in peak bloom in early June, with flowers on display throughout most of the summer, see some of our or largest most breathtaking specimen trees, and walk through the Greenhouse frame and hear about the staff who worked on the estate. The tour will also visit the lush fern garden and go inside the Pool Building to hear about its history as a recreational space and how Lyndhurst has been able to begin restoration work in recent years. This tour combines the history of the estate and its residents with some discussion of trees and historic plantings. Departing from the Welcome Center, this requires the ability to walk over the uneven, loose, and hilly ground for at least one hour and is not recommended for those with mobility issues or children under 12.

Ticket Price: $18
