Lyndhurst will be open two weekends in October with an “Explore at Your Own Pace” event. Visitors can walk through the mansion without a guided tour, view the seasonal decorations at their own pace, and take in the wonders of the historic mansion.
You will see the majestic vestibule and entrance hall, reception room, parlor, library, and the sumptuous Victorian dining room – all decorated with spirited trimmings for the season!
This event has timed entry, which begins promptly at the time on your ticket. Please arrive early to check-in at the Welcome Center before proceeding to the Mansion to explore.
Refreshments will be available for purchase on-site from Geordanes of Irvington.
Snack items; Orange and black cookies and cider doughnuts. Hot and cold beverages; coffee, hot and cold cider.
All visitors must have a pre-purchased ticket to enter the Mansion. A limited number of tickets are available for each time slot and tickets do sell out.
Please present printed tour tickets or have them available on your smartphone to show to Welcome Center staff when checking in for your time.
Entry begins promptly at the designated time.

Discounts are available to eligible visitors. Membership discounts are valid for Classic Mansion Tours only, July through September 26th.
Admission
Mansion entry for these weekends is general timed admission. There will be no guided tours of the mansion.
You may enter the mansion at the time frame of your chosen time slot. Last entry is at 3 pm. The mansion closes at 4 PM.
For times when online sales have sold out, limited tickets will be available for purchase on-site on a first-come, first-served basis. There may be a wait if the mansion is at capacity. Refreshments and shopping are available in the Welcome Center while you wait. Or take the time to explore the decorated landscape outside the Mansion.
Accessibility
Lyndhurst welcomes all visitors, but please note that this event requires the ability to be standing for approximately one hour and climb stairs.
The tour visits two floors of the mansion and only the first floor of the mansion is handicap accessible.
There is no elevator in this historic building.
Plan Your Trip
Please check-in at the Welcome Center, the brick complex located just past Lyndhurst mansion, where visitors can visit the gift shop and watch a short video. No large bags or backpacks will be permitted in the mansion. Plan to arrive at the Welcome Center 15 minutes prior to your tour.
