This tour traverses the upper eastern portion of the property and takes visitors through the spectacular rose garden, the remaining frame of the Lord & Burnham greenhouse, discusses the ruins of the remarkable c. 1914 swimming pool building once known as Helen’s Bath and passes through the fern garden. This tour combines the history of the estate and its residents with some discussion of trees and historic plantings. Departing from the Welcome Center, this requires the ability to walk over the uneven hilly ground for at least one hour and is not recommended for those with mobility issues or children under 12.

From November 7th – November 15th we will offer three tour times every Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM.

Tour Schedule

July 10th – November 1st:

Saturdays: 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM
Sundays: 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM

November 7th – November 15th:

Saturdays & Sundays: 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM & 2:00 PM

Accessibility

Lyndhurst welcomes all visitors, but please note that this tour requires extensive walking on uneven hilly grounds for about 90 minutes outside and is not recommended for visitors with limited mobility or difficulty walking.

Not recommended for children under 12.

Plan Your Visit

The guided tour will start at the Welcome Center, the brick complex located just past Lyndhurst mansion, where visitors can check-in, purchase bottled water, and a map of the grounds. Plan to arrive at the Welcome Center 15 minutes prior to your tour.
