Tickets coming soon!

December 6th at 10am – 12:30pm and 2pm – 4:30pm

The event will begin with a tour of Lyndhurst Mansion.  This one-hour tour covers two floors and gives visitors a rare glimpse of the lavish decorative arts and furniture left at Lyndhurst by previous owners.  The mansion will be spectacularly decorated for the Holidays! The tour visits approximately 16 rooms and involves climbing one staircase with 25 steps.  You’ll see the first floor of the mansion including the parlor, filled with furniture designed by architect A.J. Davis, and the sumptuous Civil War-ear dining room.  The second floor centers around the opulent Grand Art Gallery hung with an original collection of European paintings brought to Lyndhurst by the Gould family.  Impressive Tiffany stained glass windows.

Guests of the Victorian Tea and Tour will then adjourn to the carriage room of the Welcome Center.  They will enjoy a selection of festive treats and teas while learning about the history of Christmas crackers, a popular Victorian novelty item.  From its 19th century beginnings as a Parisian bonbon to the whimsical novelties we know today, guests will discover the fascinating story and artistry behind this beloved holiday tradition.

Seating will be community style to encourage a convivial atmosphere while guests enjoy their tea service and short program.  Guests booked together will be seated together.

The tea experience will be led by Bridget Bray, owner of the Puddings and Biscakes teas and the creator of custom-crafted tea experiences.

The Victorian Tea and Tour experience promises to capture the spirit of the season, and we invite you to join in the merriment.

Ideally suited for guests to join on their own or with others, the Victorian Tea will take place on December 6th at 10am to 12:30pm or 2pm to 4:30pm. Fine teas from the Puddings and Biscakes collection will be offered alongside a selection of holiday sweets.

The Holiday Tour and Tea is comprised of a one hour tour, followed by an array of sweet offerings and tea, and short program, set within the Carriage House.
