A’Lelia Bundles is the great-great-granddaughter of trailblazing entrepreneur Madam C. J. Walker and a trailblazer in her own right. Bundles was amongst the first group of women to graduate from Harvard University and also received a Master’s Degree from the Columbia University School of Journalism. She was an early female presence in network television newsrooms, serving as a producer at ABC and NBC News. Her book On Her Own Ground: The Life and Times of Madam C. J. Walker was named a New York Times’ Notable Book in 2001.
