The Winter Ensemble is a select group of singers, drawn from the larger 80-person Putnam Chorale. Now in its 40th year, the group has sung for audiences that enjoy beautiful classical and contemporary music, specially chosen for the holiday season. The Winter Ensemble’s program for Lyndhurst includes historical carols, like Here We Come a Wassailing, American composer Gwyneth Walker’s arrangements of the French country song Bring a Torch, contemporary pieces by Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo, and stirring movements from Vivaldi’s Gloria. The ensemble is led by acclaimed music director and conductor Jason C. Tramm, known for his work in choral, symphonic, and operatic music.
