Lyndhurst welcomes Kathryn Leigh Scott, author, and actress, best known locally for playing four starring roles, including Maggie Evans and Josette DuPres, in the original Gothic series, House of Dark Shadows (1970), filmed at Lyndhurst in Tarrytown, NY. She wrote Dark Shadows: Return to Collinwood and Dark Shadows Movie Book, among other books about the hit series. She currently appears in three feature films and several popular television series.

Ticket holders will arrive at Lyndhurst and check in at our carriage house welcome center for the event. Kathryn Leigh Scott will then lead a tour through Lyndhurst Mansion, stopping at the best locations inside from House of Dark Shadows recounting her time and memories of being on set and working on the television series. After the tour, guests will return to the welcome center to have a brief Q&A and book signing with Kathryn. Books and other items will be available for purchase.

All visitors must have a pre-purchased ticket to tour the Mansion with Kathryn Leigh Scott. A limited number of tickets are available for each tour. Please be aware that the tour will take visitors through the first and second floors of the mansion; there is no elevator.

For those who cannot make the Tour event, you may buy a ticket for a meet & greet with book signing between 12 pm – 2 pm.

Please present printed tour tickets or have them available on your smartphone to show to Welcome Center staff when checking in for the event.

Entry begins promptly at the designated time.

All ticket purchases are non-refundable.

For everyone’s safety, Lyndhurst asks all visitors to wear masks in all indoor spaces. As in any public setting, we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed to COVID-19. By visiting Lyndhurst, you voluntarily assume such risks.

Schedule

There are instances of this event: 10 am and 3 pm. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to check-in.

There will be a general admission meet & greet between 12 pm and 2 pm.

The ticket includes entry to the event and access to the Lyndhurst Grounds to explore our exterior decor for the season. It does not include the Spirited Mansion Weekend admission.

All tour tickets must be purchased online, in advance as space is limited.

Plan Your Trip

The event takes place at the Welcome Center Tent, the brick complex located just past Lyndhurst mansion. Ticket holders will check-in outside the tent after walking through the south archway. Plan to arrive at the Welcome Center 15 minutes prior to your timed entry.

Lyndhurst welcomes all visitors, but please note that this event requires the ability to be standing for periods of time. There is no elevator in the historic mansion. Our Welcome Center is ADA accessible and has restroom facilities.
