Dark Shadows returns to Lyndhurst for its 60th Anniversary for a Dark Shadows Halloween celebration!
On October 31st, join us for a Meet & Greet with Kathryn Leigh Scott, author and actress, best known for playing “Maggie Evans” and “Josette DuPres” in the original television series and the movie House of Dark Shadows. Stay tuned for other special guests attending.
Dark Shadows stars will be in the Welcome Center Pavilion from 10AM to 4PM, and visitors are welcome to stop by and mingle with the actors and other fans throughout the day. The time slots on these tickets are for entry to the mansion only; the Meet & Greet is open all day.
Ticket holders will also be able to explore the estate, roam Lyndhurst Mansion at your own pace, enjoy food and music in the landscape, and pop into the Carriage Room in the Welcome Center to watch House of Dark Shadows playing throughout the day. This event will include a costume contest, so come dressed in your favorite Dark Shadows cosplay. Books and other souvenirs will be available to purchase on-site and in our Welcome Center Museum Store.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase on the property, including:
- Captain Lawrence food truck
- Jimmy’s Ice Cream at the Bowling Alley from 11AM to 4PM
- Geordanes at the Welcome Center
- Altogether Band playing throughout the day
- Shuttle buses will be available to move people around the property
These tickets include entry into the mansion, pavilion, and grounds. The last entry into the mansion will be at 4PM; plan accordingly!
Museums for All:
Tickets for entry into the mansion are $5 each for you and your family with your EBT card! This discounted admission is for up to 4 people per EBT card. Reserve your ticket online with the EBT/SNAP ticket designation. You MUST present your EBT card at the Welcome Center when you check in. If you cannot present your card, you will be required to pay in full for the event.
Important Information, Please Read:
- Please be advised that the house has no elevator.
- There are no guided tours during this event.
- The last entry into the mansion is at 4 pm!
- A limited number of tickets are available for each event, and events do sell out.
- Some tickets may be available for purchase on-site, but these are not guaranteed.
- Please arrive 15 minutes before the entry time on your ticket. If you are late, we will do our best to accommodate you, but we cannot guarantee it.
- All ticket purchases are non-refundable.
- A Grounds Pass is not needed if you already have an Event Ticket.
- No large bags, backpacks or strollers allowed in the mansion.

Plan Your Trip
Please check-in at the Welcome Center, the brick complex located just past Lyndhurst Mansion, where visitors can visit the gift shop and use the restrooms. Plan to arrive at the Welcome Center 15 minutes prior to your ticket time.

Lyndhurst welcomes all visitors, but please note that this event requires the ability to be standing for periods of time. There is no elevator to the second floor of the mansion. Our Welcome Center is ADA-accessible and has restroom facilities.
