You’ve experienced the splendor of the Mansion during the day, but have you seen it draped in candlelight?
Come and experience the history of the Mansion and explore Victorian lore in the glow of an October evening; Lyndhurst After Dark! Timed entry into the Mansion allows visitors to experience the house as it is decorated in the spirit of the season, with special collections and items on display relating to the superstitions of the age.
This is an experience through the Mansion in the evening hours, that will discuss the slightly darker side of history through those who lived at Lyndhurst. Visitors will get a chance to experience the architecture, decor, and collection items on display while listening to performers regale about the traditions of the past.
The event in the mansion lasts about 30 minutes. With check-in at the welcome center and parking, please anticipate the full event lasting 1 hour.
Not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
Purchase of a Lyndhurst After Dark ticket does not allow for Grounds Access during the day.
Refreshments will be available for purchase on-site from Geordanes of Irvington.
Snack items; Orange and black cookies and cider doughnuts. Hot and cold beverages; coffee, hot and cold cider.
All visitors must have a pre-purchased ticket to enter the Mansion. A limited number of tickets are available for each timed event and tickets do sell out.
Please present printed tickets or have them available on your smartphone to show to Welcome Center staff when checking in for your timed event.

All ticket purchases are non-refundable.
For everyone’s safety, Lyndhurst reserves the right to deny or revoke the admission of any visitor who refuses to comply with these guidelines. As in any public setting, we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed to COVID-19. By visiting Lyndhurst, you voluntarily assume such risks.

Membership discounts are valid for Classic Mansion Tours only, July through September 26th.
Mansion entry for this event is timed admission.
You may enter the mansion at the time listed on your ticket after checking in.
Online advance ticket sales only. There will be no onsite tickets available.
Refreshments and shopping are available in the Welcome Center while you wait.
Family and Accessibility
The evening experience will appeal to adults, teens, and school-aged children aged 7 and older. This is not a tour but a timed walk through the Mansion. This is not a Halloween haunted house.
This experience requires climbing stairs and standing for a moderate amount of time, and is not recommended for those needing ADA accessibility. The event visits two floors of the mansion and only the first floor of the mansion is handicap accessible.
There is no elevator in this historic building.
Plan Your Visit
Please check-in at the Welcome Center, the brick complex located just past Lyndhurst mansion, where visitors can visit the gift shop and watch a short video. No large bags or backpacks will be permitted in the mansion. Plan to arrive at the Welcome Center 15 minutes prior to your tour. Please respect all grounds signage and adhere to social distancing recommendations. You are required to wear a mask when interacting with Lyndhurst staff.
