Mansion Tour and Rose Afternoon Tea

The Rose Afternoon Tea will be offered on Saturday, June 8, and Sunday, June 9, from 1 pm to 3 pm, in the Blue Cottage, where guests will enjoy a shortened tour of the Mansion’s culinary spaces and then experience a Cream Tea with a selection of teas and treats. This event is presented by Bridget Bray, who will share the origins, traditions, and etiquette of the long-favored British afternoon tea service and include several tea blends from her Puddings and Biscakes tea line, now available in the Lyndhurst Mansion store. This tea experience will begin at the Welcome Center walk up to the historic mansion and take a brief tour, where the group will be the first to experience the newly created display of the chinaware from Lyndhurst’s collection. The group will then walk to the Blue Cottage for the sit-down tea. These tickets are separate from the car admission, please purchase them below!

Purchase Rose Tea Tickets

Helen Gould roses will be for sale in the Welcome Center Courtyard. The “Helen Gould” rose, described as “watermelon” colored and popular in its time, was later renamed “Red Maman Cochet.” Of the five Maman Cochet sister roses (pink, yellow, crimson, white, and red) only the white and pink varieties exist today. During her time at Lyndhurst, Helen Gould’s rose garden was full of pink rose blooms. Bring home this unique souvenir of Lyndhurst’s horticultural past.
