Restoration Fund donors have made it possible for Lyndhurst to complete restorations on every one of its 15 buildings on the 67-acre property over the last six years. Your generous support has allowed us to open up new rooms and buildings for visitors including the bowling pavilion, laundry building, and mansion kitchen and tower rooms.  Restoration Fund donors also make it possible to put new collections on view and restore new acquisitions for display.  This Fund also provides assistance t when we encounter an unexpected emergency that threatens our buildings and collections, requiring immediate attention.

Some of the key achievements your donations have made possible include:

  • Full restoration of such servant spaces as the kitchen, laundry room, Butler’s suite, and maid’s rooms.
  • Purchase of a rare Tiffany lamp for the Lyndhurst library.
  • Restoration of rare furniture pieces by the Herter Brothers and Alexander Jackson Davis.
  • A complete restoration and rehanging of the grand picture gallery after years of water entry from a leaky roof.

Your donations help us continue this critical restoration work and constantly improve the beauty of Lyndhurst.
