Halloween Roam On Your Own

Lyndhurst welcomes visitors to explore on their own, this majestic Gilded Age Mansion during the Autumn season! Timed entries allow guests to take in the Autumnal decor while strolling through this breathtaking historic home.

You will see the opulent vestibule and entrance hall, reception room, parlor, library, beautiful Victorian dining room, and stunning art gallery –  all surrounded by festive Fall decorations!

Lyndhurst Tour guides will be stationed throughout the house to answer questions.

This Roam on Your Own will be happening during our Dark Shadows Halloween event! Parts of the Dark Shadows TV show and both of the Dark Shadows movies were filmed here at Lyndhurst Mansion during the 1960s and 1970s. You may see Dark Shadows memorabilia around the property at this event. For more information on the even itself, click HERE.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase on the property. The Captain Lawrence food truck and Jimmy’s Ice Cream will be at the Bowling Alley from 11 am to 4 pm, with the Altogether Band playing throughout the day. Geordanes of Irvington will also be at the Welcome Center for lunch purchases. Shuttle buses will be available to move people around the property.

These tickets include entry into the mansion and grounds. The last entry into the mansion will be at 4 pm, plan accordingly!

Museums for All:

Tickets for entry into the mansion are $5 each for you and your family with your EBT card!  This discounted admission is for up to 4 people per EBT card. Reserve your ticket online with the EBT/SNAP ticket designation.  You MUST present your EBT card at the Welcome Center when you check in. If you cannot present your card, you will be required to pay in full for the event.

Important Information, Please Read:

• Please be advised that the house has no elevator. 
• There are no guided tours during this event. 
• The last entry into the mansion is at 4 pm!
• A limited number of tickets are available for each event, and events do sell out. 
• Some tickets may be available for purchase on-site, but these are not guaranteed. 
• Please arrive 15 minutes before the entry time on your ticket. If you are late, we will do our best to accommodate you, but we cannot guarantee it.
• All ticket purchases are non-refundable.
• A Grounds Pass is not needed if you already have an Event Ticket. 
• No large bags, backpacks or strollers allowed in the mansion.
