This Halloween, Lyndhurst welcomes visitors to explore our majestic mansion on their own!
Coinciding with our Dark Shadows Halloween events, timed entry to our historic mansion allows guests to take in seasonal and spirited decorations as they stroll through our Gothic Revival landmark home. During this roam-on-your-own tour, you’ll see the first and second floors of the mansion, decorated with Halloween and autumnal decor for the season.
Also happening at Lyndhurst this Halloween:
- Captain Lawrence food truck
- Jimmy’s Ice Cream at the Bowling Alley from 11 AM to 4 PM
- Altogether Band performing throughout the day
- Geordanes serving sandwiches and snacks in the Welcome Center
During the 1960s and 70s, parts of the Dark Shadows TV show and both of the Dark Shadows movies were filmed here at Lyndhurst Mansion & Gardens. You may see Dark Shadows memorabilia around the property at this Halloween – feel free to ask any of the fans for more information (you’ll know who they are!) Your Halloween roam-on-your-own tickets include entry into the mansion and grounds. The last entry into the mansion will be at 4 pm; plan accordingly.
Museums for All:
Tickets for entry into the mansion are $5 each for you and your family with your EBT card! This discounted admission is for up to 4 people per EBT card. Reserve your ticket online with the EBT/SNAP ticket designation. You MUST present your EBT card at the Welcome Center when you check in. If you cannot present your card, you will be required to pay in full for the event.
Important Information, Please Read:
- Please be advised that the house has no elevator.
- There are no guided tours during this event.
- The last entry into the mansion is at 4 pm!
- A limited number of tickets are available for each event, and events do sell out.
- Some tickets may be available for purchase on-site, but these are not guaranteed.
- Please arrive 15 minutes before the entry time on your ticket. If you are late, we will do our best to accommodate you, but we cannot guarantee it.
- All ticket purchases are non-refundable.
- A Grounds Pass is not needed if you already have an Event Ticket.
- No large bags, backpacks or strollers allowed in the mansion.

Plan Your Visit
Please check-in at the Welcome Center, the brick complex located just past Lyndhurst Mansion, where visitors can visit the gift shop and use the restrooms. Plan to arrive at the Welcome Center 15 minutes prior to your ticket time.

Lyndhurst welcomes all visitors, but please note that this event requires the ability to be standing for periods of time. There is no elevator to the second floor of the mansion. Our Welcome Center is ADA-accessible and has restroom facilities.
