Ages 21 and Over

Step into a night of gothic splendor and inescapable doom at The Masquerade of the Red Death Halloween Party.

Held within the soaring, vaulted Gothic halls of Lyndhurst Mansion, this exclusive gathering transforms our historic estate into Prince Prospero’s final, desperate refuge. Guests will indulge in opulent revelry, completely shut off from the outside world, until the clock strikes and reality sets in.

Experience the mansion transformed into the doomed masquerade of Poe’s short story, filled with vibrant colors and bizarre, beautiful decorations, with drinks, a feast and sweets for guest to gorge on. The air will be heavy with music and laughter, creating a scene where “the age of the masquerade was rife with mirth.”

Prince Prospero demands his guests come in costume, but standard Halloween costumes will not suffice for this dark celebration. Guests must dress to match the eccentric, feverish imagination of Prince Prospero himself – prizes will be given for the revelers with the best costumes.

“There were buffoons, there were improvisatori, there were ballet-dancers, there were musicians, there was Beauty, there was wine… There were grotesque realities… there were much of the beautiful, much of the wanton, much of the bizarre.”

Attire should be decadent, surreal, and grand. The story takes place in the Middle Ages, but feel free to give your creative spin to the “masquerade” theme. Masks are a must.
