American Sign Language interpreting Services will be provided on Saturday, October 25th at 6:00 pm. This tour will be conducted in spoken English with ASL Interpretation. This tour is specifically for people requiring ASL Interpretation and those accompanying them. Tickets HERE.
You’ve experienced the splendor of the Mansion during the day, but have you seen it draped in candlelight?
Come and experience the history of the Mansion and explore Victorian lore in the atmospheric glow of an October evening; Lyndhurst After Dark! Timed entry into the Mansion allows visitors to experience the house as it is decorated in the spirit of the season, with special collections and items on display relating to the superstitions of the age. This experience through the Mansion explores the slightly darker side of history through the stories of those who lived at Lyndhurst. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the architecture, decor, and collection items on display while listening to performers share stories about the traditions of the past. Please note that this is not a haunted house!
Refreshments will be available for purchase on-site from Geordanes of Irvington.
Snack items: Orange and black cookies and cider doughnuts. Hot and cold beverages: coffee and cider.
Important Information, Please Read:
- It is not suitable for children under 10 years of age. All children attending are required to have a ticket. Children aged 2 and under will not be admitted.
- Lyndhurst After Dark goes through the mansion kitchen, please note that guests will have to traverse narrow stairwells.
- The event in the mansion lasts about 45 minutes. With check-in at the Welcome Center and parking, please anticipate the event lasting approximately 80 minutes.
- Please arrive at least 15-20 minutes before the time on your ticket. If you are late for your time, we will do our best to fit you in on a later tour, but we cannot guarantee there will be room!
- A limited number of tickets are available for each event, and events do sell out.
- All ticket purchases are non-refundable. No-shows will not be refunded.
- The purchase of a Lyndhurst After Dark ticket does not allow Grounds Access during the daytime.
- No large bags or backpacks allowed in the mansion.

Online advance ticket sales only. There will be no onsite tickets available.

Family and Accessibility
The evening experience will appeal to adults, teens, and school-aged children aged 10 and older. Children aged 2 and under will not be admitted.
This is not a guided tour but a timed walk/performance through the Mansion.
This is not a Halloween haunted house.
This experience requires climbing stairs and standing for a moderate amount of time and is not recommended for those needing ADA accessibility. The event visits three floors of the mansion and only the first floor of the mansion is handicap accessible.
There is no elevator in this historic building.
Plan Your Visit
Please check-in at the Welcome Center, the brick complex located just past Lyndhurst mansion, where visitors can visit the gift shop and watch a short video. No large bags or backpacks will be permitted in the mansion. Plan to arrive at the Welcome Center 15 minutes prior to your tour. Please respect all grounds signage.
